About TxtCart
TxtCart is an AI-native SMS marketing platform built exclusively for Shopify merchants. We help DTC brands recover abandoned carts, drive repeat purchases, and run intelligent SMS campaigns through a conversational AI Agent that talks like a real person.
We are bootstrapped, profitable, and growing fast. Around $4M ARR, 1,200+ paying merchants, and a small async-first team operating remotely. Part of what we sell is a Managed tier: merchants who pay us to run their SMS campaigns and flows for them rather than doing it themselves. That book of managed clients currently has no dedicated owner, and this role exists to fix that.
The role
You are going to own the fulfillment of TxtCart’s Managed-tier client campaigns, end to end. Copywriting, campaign calendar, and flow optimization, for every merchant on a Managed plan. This work has been sitting with the CEO since our last owner left, and it needs a dedicated, hands-on operator so it can run reliably at scale instead of depending on whoever has spare hours that week.
This is a builder-and-executor seat, not a strategy seat. You will write the campaigns, manage the calendar, and optimize the flows yourself. The bar is simple: managed merchants should get campaigns that feel like a skilled in-house marketer wrote them, on a calendar that never slips, with flows that keep getting better.
There is a second layer to this role, smaller in hours but real in value. As TxtCart builds out how its AI Agent should reason about retention, being a smart lifecycle marketer, not just a responder, you are the first internal point of view we consult before we’d ever go outside the company for that judgment.
What you’ll own
Managed client campaign execution (~50%)
- Own SMS campaign copywriting for every Managed-tier merchant: promotions, campaigns, seasonal sends, and one-off client requests.
- Build and run the campaign calendar across the full managed book, so nothing slips and nothing overlaps badly.
- Keep every send on-brand for its merchant, on schedule, and mindful of TCPA and 10DLC messaging norms.
- Manage the queue and triage as the managed book grows, flagging when volume needs more hours or another hire before quality slips.
Flow optimization (~25%)
- Own flow architecture for Managed clients inside TxtCart’s platform: welcome, abandoned cart, post-purchase, win-back, and similar lifecycle flows.
- Segment, test, and iterate flows against click-through, conversion, and revenue-per-recipient, not just send volume.
- Document a flow-optimization playbook so quality holds even as the book changes hands or grows.
Client-facing retention judgment (~15%)
- Act as the retention point of contact for Managed clients on strategy questions, working alongside CS rather than around it.
- Flag churn-risk signals that show up in campaign or flow performance before they become a CS escalation.
AI Agent retention consulting (~10%)
- Serve as the first internal consult on how TxtCart’s AI Agent should reason like a smart retention marketer: segmentation logic, timing, sequencing, and message quality.
- Bring a working marketer’s eye to what “good” looks like, grounded in what you’re actually seeing perform across the managed book.
First 90 days
Note: the first 30 days is about learning the managed book and standing up a repeatable process, not chasing metrics on day one. The milestones below assume things are working by day 90.
By day 30
- Full audit of the current Managed book: which merchants, current campaign cadence, and flow health, handed off from Kyle.
- Campaign calendar stood up and running for the full book.
- First week of campaigns shipped independently, reviewed lightly by Kyle.
By day 60
- Flow-optimization playbook drafted and the first round of flow improvements shipped.
- Calendar and copywriting running independently, with Kyle out of day-to-day review.
- First AI Agent retention consulting conversation held with Kyle and/or Brady.
By day 90
- Full independent ownership of Managed book fulfillment; Kyle fully out of execution.
- Measurable lift on at least one flow or campaign metric versus the day-30 baseline.
- A documented process (calendar cadence, copy standards, flow-review cycle) that would let a second person ramp on this book quickly.
Success metrics
3 months in
- Managed book runs entirely without Kyle in the loop.
- Campaign calendar has zero missed sends; copy quality holds across merchants.
- First flow-optimization wins documented with before/after metrics.
6 months in
- Flow performance (click-through, conversion, revenue-per-recipient) trending up across the managed book versus the 90-day baseline.
- Churn-risk flags from campaign/flow signals are catching issues before CS has to.
- A working point of view on AI Agent retention logic has been fed into product/engineering at least once.
What we’re looking for
Must-haves
- Real experience running SMS and/or email lifecycle marketing for DTC or Shopify merchants, not just theory.
- Strong, fast copywriting. You can write on-brand campaign copy for multiple merchants in a single day without it reading generic.
- Direct experience owning a campaign calendar and flow builds inside a platform like Klaviyo, Attentive, Postscript, Omnisend, or similar.
- Comfortable being the sole fulfillment owner for a live book of paying clients, no team to lean on.
- Data-literate enough to read flow performance and know what to change, not just what happened.
- Comfortable working async and remote, with clear written communication and reasonable overlap with the US team.
Nice to haves
- Agency background managing multiple client accounts concurrently.
- Prior consulting or advisory experience in retention/lifecycle marketing.
- Exposure to conversational AI or AI-driven messaging products.
- Familiarity with TCPA, 10DLC, or SMS compliance basics.
Compensation and structure
- Contractor engagement, full-time (~35-40 hours per week).
- Remote, overseas-based, with reasonable overlap with our US team.
- $4,000 per month to start. This is a starting point, not a ceiling; as the managed book and your scope grow, so does the number.
- First 30 days is a paid trial focused on fit and how we work together, at the same rate.
- 90-day review with potential for expanded scope and compensation growth based on results and fit.
- AI Agent retention consulting is part of this seat’s scope, not billed separately, at least initially.
How to apply
Send the following to kyle@txtcart.ai with the subject line “Retention Marketing Manager – [Your Name]”:

- Two or three writing samples of campaign copy you’ve written for real merchants or brands.
- Your LinkedIn profile.
- Two sentences on why this role and why now.
We review every application personally. Lead with the campaigns and flows you’re proudest of and the numbers they moved.
