About TxtCart:

TxtCart is an AI-powered SMS marketing platform helping top ecommerce brands recover carts, answer product questions, and convert browsers into buyers. Our platform blends AI automation with human assistance to deliver real-time, high-converting customer experiences at scale.

We’re now hiring a Head of Sales to build and lead our outbound and inbound GTM motion. You’ll be the first senior sales hire and will play a foundational role in shaping TxtCart’s revenue engine — from strategy and systems to hiring and execution.

The Role:

As Head of Sales, you’ll be responsible for driving new business across SMB and mid-market Shopify merchants. This is a player-coach role: you’ll be expected to prospect, close, and build pipeline while simultaneously developing repeatable processes, playbooks, and early-stage team structure.

You’ll report directly to the CEO and collaborate with marketing, product, partnerships, and customer success to ensure sales execution aligns with product value and customer outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Own all new business sales and pipeline generation across SMB and mid-market
  • Drive outbound and inbound efforts through tools, automation, and direct outreach
  • Develop the foundational sales process, pipeline stages, and CRM reporting
  • Build outbound scripts, email flows, and objection handling frameworks
  • Manage a quota and continuously optimize conversion rates and sales velocity
  • Partner with product and marketing to align on messaging, positioning, and use case education
  • Test and refine pricing, packaging, and qualification criteria
  • Lay the groundwork for future team growth (AEs, BDRs, RevOps)
  • Provide feedback loops to the product team based on merchant objections and feature gaps
  • Represent TxtCart at industry events, conferences, and virtual demos

What We're Looking For:

  • 5–8+ years of SaaS sales experience, ideally in martech or ecommerce
  • Proven success closing deals in the SMB/mid-market space (Shopify experience is a big plus)
  • Experience in a startup or early-stage environment — you’re comfortable building from zero
  • Strong outbound chops: creative, relentless, and conversion-minded
  • Hands-on with tools like Salesforce, Apollo, LeadIQ, and Gong
  • Metrics- and process-driven, but scrappy enough to win without red tape
  • Excellent communicator and storyteller — able to simplify complex value into results
  • Bonus if you’ve sold to DTC brands, agencies, or ecommerce service providers
